Antisana National Park is a spectacular area, ringed by snow-capped volcanoes.
The entire park is all well above 10,000 feet, and is prime territory for seeing the Andean Condor.
Alas, the only condor that gave us a close-up view took us by surprise and I only photographed its rear!
There was no shortage of other interesting birds to be seen that day, however.
All redstarts are handsome birds, and the Spectacled Redstart is no exception. It is only found in the Andes:
The Great Thrush is very common in its range in the Andes:
The Carunculated Caracara is found only in the high Andes of Ecuador and Colombia:
