Bernal, Queretaro is one of many Pueblos Magicos in Mexico.
Unlike many, this Pueblo Magico lives up to its name.
While not large, Bernal has plenty to do for a nice day's visit.
There is a Mask Museum, and a very small museum dedicated to cinematographer Rosalío Solano, who worked on one of my all-time favorite comedies, Escuela de Vagabundos, starring Pedro Infante.
The town is dominated by the Peña de Bernal, a huge monolith (rock), which New-Agers like to think has magical qualities, but certainly gives the town a distinct personality.
I've always wanted to visit Bernal, and it was my first stop on a recent trip through central Mexico.
