This winter there have been numerous reports of huge flocks of American Robins in San Diego County.
While I was in Borrego Springs one day in December, there was a large flock which was feasting on the berries of a palm tree.

We had a 4-5 of them in our backyard in Rancho Bernardo yesterday, enjoying the berries of Brazilian pepper, the feeders and the bird baths. And they're easy enough to photograph even for me. :)
