Stilt Sandpiper

Another armchair life-bird, found by simply reviewing old photos!

The Stilt Sandpiper breeds in the arctic, and winters in small areas of Texas and Florida, much of Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

I photographed this bird in May, 2019 at South Padre Island, Texas. I recognized it as a life-bird after taking a shorebird identification class earlier this year!
