Red-shouldered Hawk

A handsome Red-shouldered Hawk flies above Santee Lakes.

Photographed in March of this year.

Closer examination of the photo shows a misshapen bill. I imagine that it resulted from an injury, and hope that it does not represent another species suffering from a deformed-bill syndrome, as elucidated here.
