I visited Cibbett's Flat Campground, south of San Diego's Laguna Mountains, one morning in December of last year. There was a large group of California Scrub-Jays carrying acorns from oak trees in the campground to another group of trees outside of the campground.
Tracking these fast birds with my current camera set-up was not easy, but by trying various focus modes and positioning myself where I though they would fly, I managed to get a few successful shots, including this one.
Note that the bird has not one, but two acorns in its mouth! They all seemed to manage this feat.
