Though Imperial Beach is not far from me, I don't get there often enough for birding.
Snowy Egret, photographed one afternoon in August of this year:
Later that day, a Belding's Savannah Sparrow, backlit by the setting sun:
The following evening, a Snowy Plover, in its nesting area north of the Tijuana River mouth. Though I was quite a distance from the bird (this is a crop from a photo with a long lens), it was still nervous by my presence, and I left it alone.
