Black-necked Stilt
A Black-necked Stilt, at sunset, photographed along the shores of the Salton Sea earlier this month.
I walked along the shores of the Salton Sea for hundreds of yards that evening, and this Black-necked Stilt circled me the entire time making alarm calls. I was clearly too close to its nest, young or other members of its flock for its comfort, though I kept walking and walking far away from any visible birds (though pausing to takes its picture!)

It was enjoyable presenting my slide-show Birding in Baja California to the San Diego Sierra Club Photo Club last Thursday evening. I will be presenting the same show this Tuesday at noon to the La Mesa Lions Club. The meeting takes place at the La mesa Community Center, 4975 Memorial Dr., La Mesa. The meeting is open to the public and includes a charge for lunch.
