The parade honoring St. Jerome takes place every year in Coatepec, Veracruz, on September 29, rain or shine. This year the emphasis was on rain!
Just before the parade started, there was a downpour as strong as any I have ever experienced! It lasted perhaps 20 minutes. Positions under the eaves of buildings were long gone, so I sought shelter under some very tall, thickly-leaved trees. They did nothing to stop the rain!
