This photo was inspired by a podcast by Tim Grey, my first (and best!) Photoshop instructor. As I was heading to San Felipe, I listened to a tip he gave on how to create a sunburst or starburst effect in the camera. (Basically, you stop down to your smallest aperture, say f 22, and point the camera at a point of light.) So, I decided to play around a little and try it out, pointing my camera directly at the morning sun as birds, like this pelican, flew by.
As an experiment, I was pleased, I'll have to try it again when conditions are right!
