Dave Yuhas

How do you keep the camera steady in a kayak?

Hi Dave,

The kayak is actually quite stable (just no sudden movements!)
I use a relatively lightweight lens (the Tamron 150-600) on a BlackRapid strap for safety and convenience. I can easily handhold this lens, and with a high shutter speed it needs no support.
I have it in a dry bag when I enter and leave the kayak, as I figure those are the most vulnerable times for splashing, etc.
