Osprey and Cactus

La Mesa Lions Club
I'm speaking tomorrow (Tuesday, October 19) at the La Mesa Lions Club. I will be giving my talk "Southern California Bird Photography". The meeting is from noon to 1:30 at the La Mesa Community Center, 4975 Memorial Drive, La Mesa, 91942. The public is welcome. I hope to see you there!

Say's Phoebe
It seems that everywhere I go I notice more and more Say's Phoebes. Winter migration, I think, though many are year-round residents. This one was at Anza Borrego State Park last weekend, on an ocotillo plant.

Little Blue Heron
Might be confused for a snowy egret, it's really a juvenile little blue heron. San Diego River at Robb Field.
