Best of Nature

Save the date!

There will be some spectacular photographs at the upcoming Best of Nature juried photo exhibition at the San Diego Natural History Museum. The exhibition runs from November 13, 2010, through January 30, 2011, with a reception on Saturday November 13, from 11 am to 1 pm. There will be 70 photos (including two of my bird photos) chosen from over 1100 entries from around the world.

When I first became interested in bird photography, some of the first birds I enjoyed shooting were the wood ducks at Santee Lakes. I haven't been there for a while, so I stopped by recently.

I'm often surprised at the pleasant rendering of the out of focus areas with my Nikon 200-400 mm lens.

St. Clair Gallery

I now have six bird photographs hanging at the St. Clair Gallery, in El Cajon, California, including this osprey photo.

There will be a reception tomorrow, Sunday September 12, from 3-6 p.m. The gallery is located at 270 East Douglas Ave., El Cajon, California. The current show will hang through September 16.

These receptions are always well attended, and are a chance to meet many talented artists, view, and perhaps purchase their works.
