- I am a photographer based in San Diego. I now specialize in bird photography, but also regularly photograph scenes of Mexico, Route 66, tennis, bicycle racing, flowers, and people. My work hangs in galleries in San Diego and elsewhere, and I am available for slide shows, lectures, and exhibitions.

Tennis
The tennis season is coming to a close, and before you know it it will be time for the Australian Open!
I spent so much time preparing for a gallery show this spring and summer, that I had no time to review, process, and post images from the Indian Wells BNP Open this spring.
I'm just getting to it now, and I'll be posting lots of images soon. I've grown to like a high-contrast black and white treatment for a number of these images, which I specifically shot with dark backgrounds.
Here's a taste of what's to come.

Hummingbird
Another bird silhouette.
Costa's Hummingbird, Anza Borrego State Park, shot a few weeks ago. I noticed this hummingbird kept returning to a perch on this ocotillo plant, so I just waited, and in a few minutes I had this shot. I aimed at a bright part of the early evening sky so it would appear as a silhouette.
36 of my bird photos are viewable through the end of December at the office of Robert Pendleton, M.D. His new office is located at 3637 Vista Way, Oceanside, California, 92056, 760-758-2004.

Canvas Prints
I just sold a 16x24 inch canvas print of this photo from Yucca, Arizona, along Route 66.
(shot with a Lensbaby, grain and noise added in Photoshop).
Just about all of the images you see in this blog, on my website, or on my pbase photosharing site are available as signed canvas prints. They look great on the wall, make great gifts, and come in all sizes, up to 24x36 or larger.
Most images are available for stock or editorial use as well.
