Hummingbird Silhouette

The iridescent wings of a hummingbird glow in the afternoon sun. I think, but am not certain, that this is an Anna's hummingbird.

Great Egret

There are dozens of cattle egrets, white-faced ibises, and great egrets now nesting at the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park. Here a great egret carries material back to the nest.

Greater Roadrunner

There is a lightly traveled trail at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park called the Baja Garden trail. It is located on a beautiful hillside which reminded me of the desert near Cataviña, Baja California.

A (non-captive) greater roadrunner showed up and posed, as if on cue!

House Wren

This house wren was one of many wild birds enjoying the environment of the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park.
